How did you and your partner meet?

We met through a mutual childhood friend

How did you get started in the fashion business?

Trisha: Freelance work

Urcia: I have a formal degree in Visual Communications so it was easy to transition into the business of fashion.

Individually we both love to shop and both love fashion so it only made sense we followed our passion and made it into a business.

How long have you been in the business?

We have been in business since 2005

Have you always had a love of fashion?

Urcia: Since birth J

Trisha: Absolutely, for most of my life

Which celebrity's style are you most loving right now?

Urcia:  Tracee Ellis Ross, Jennifer Lopez, Kourtney Kardashian, and Nicole Ritchie

Trisha: Blake Lively and Jennifer Lopez

Which celebrity would you most want to style?

Urcia: There are several, but if I had to choose it would be celebs that need a make-over. Loretta Devine, Phaedra Parks, Kenya – Basketball wives, Christina Aguilera, I think the before and after would be a huge transformation

Trisha: Minka Kelly

If you could only recommend 1 fashion trend that's hot right now for
the everyday woman, what would it be?

Urcia: I would recommend a wrap dress, DVF (Diane Von Furstenberg) revolutionized the wrap dress and they have taken it a bit further this season using chiffon and fun prints.

Trisha: Floral prints and eyelet skirts/shorts

What's one item that EVERY woman should have in her closet?

Urcia: A classic white buttoned down shirt, it’s very versatile, you can cuff the sleeves, tie the front, and pop the collar to add flare.

Trisha: A little black dress, you can change it up a lot with accessories, you will never get bored

Which young starlet do see becoming the next fashion icon?

Urcia: Rita Ora, Blake Lively and Rihanna

Trisha: Hayden Panettiere

What do you think of recording artist with very* *avant-garde style? (i.e Nikki Minaj, Lady Gaga) Do you think it alienates their fans because
it's not practical or do you think it's something fun that their fans can
live vicariously through?

Urcia: I think it has all been done before. I am a child of the 80’s and 90’s so I grew up with Madonna, Prince, Michael Jackson, and Lil Kim. They are all multi-platinum artist so it obviously works. I’m not going to have my daughter dressing like Willow Smith, but there’s a new generation of kids out there who are diehard fans of their looks. The Avant-garde look works for some, and others it just seems it’s an attempt to copy. But they do say imitation is the best form of flattery J

Trisha: I don’t think it’s practical; this avant-garde creativity is more suitable for the entertainment industry, not the everyday woman

Do you have any upcoming projects that you would like to tell us
about?

Besides doing personal shopping for clients, we will be styling models for a fundraiser event in May, as well as giving some expert styling tips on a popular shopping site. But our biggest project yet may be coming to a TV network soon so stay tuned J
What does Glam Duo want to be known for? What kind of style do you
represent?

Glamduo represents all fashion trends and styles. Glamduo
wants to be known for improving a person’s image to show off their personality. We represent the everyday person, the person you see out and about and wonder where they got that outfit. We are not caught up on labels and designers. We strongly believe it’s not how much it costs or who makes it, but how you wear it. What we have learned is that everyone thinks they have style, and they can put an outfit together. But that’s not the case. You either have style or you don’t, however it can be taught. Women (and men) should not be afraid to ask for help or advice on what to wear. We are here to teach the masses about fashion, what looks good on a certain body type, what’s just enough accessory or too little, what shoes is appropriate and what’s not in season. These are the little things that can make a ratchet looks turn into a show stopper.
